Frakturs
During the early Renaissance period the survival of the arts of hand lettering and illumination depended on scribes and cloistered monks. The motifs and texts used in their manuscripts were based on generations of traditions and used in documents such as births, baptisms, marriages or when creating genealogical records. Fraktures sometimes were given as gifts. These decorative writings were made using homemade brushes and quill pens.
Fraktur can also be called a "memory art," because the design elements used were those remembered from original European manuscripts or from manuscripts brought here by earlier settlers. The design motifs we still used today were collected, adapted, and passed down through generations in Scandinacia, Central Europe, and Eastern Europe.
All Frakturs are hand crafted on Parchment with the aid of water proof ink, Artist quality water colours were used. All Frakturs are framed and ready to Hang.
